Thought for the Day: Living with yourself AND reality - Micah 2:11

"If a liar and deceiver comes and says, “I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,” that would be just the prophet for this people!"
Micah 2:11

The point:

When times are tough we need to hear the truth, not comforting and pleasing lies
#truthHurts?
#TruthMatters

Think it through:

If someone tries to make you feel better about yourself by telling you what a wonderful person you are, the trouble is ... a lot of the time you are not.

You CAN just believe them and go about basing your life on a comforting lie ... but then one day reality will burst in and the bubble will burst. You'll have to face the reality and then that much bigger crisis will floor you.

Or you can acknowledge the truth about yourself, throw yourself on the mercy of God, and He will re-build the reality of you from the inside out.

That's why y GRWP doesn't put up memes on social media every day addressing 'mental health' that tell you how wonderful you are.

We put stuff up reassuring you how merciful and gracious God is and how He's in the business of making people like you and me resiliently (truly) new.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

THAT is the hope-filled reality.

Strengthening farmers from the inside out.

It's more than our 'Vision Statement'. It truly is what we are all about.
